Since 1994, ICF Macro has conducted the national evaluation of communities funded through the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children and Their Families Program for the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS). Our evaluation examines outcomes for children and their families, barriers to collaborating to provide community-based services, and the opinions of the parents themselves. We help CMHS develop policies, provide guidelines, write reports, and deliver technical assistance that fosters the continuous improvement of systems of care. We help educate and inform grantees at local sites, establish criteria for a successful system of care, and shape future program directions. Our evaluation includes process and outcome measures at system and client levels and the use of complex multivariate statistical analysis techniques.
High-Risk Youth Demonstration Program
ICF Macro designed and conducted a 5-year national cross-site evaluation of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention's High-Risk Youth Demonstration Program. The High-Risk Youth program funded community-based initiatives to prevent and reduce alcohol, tobacco, and drug use among at-risk youth. We managed data collections at 48 sites, managed databases, and conducted annual evaluation workshops. We also participated in developing the National Youth Survey, conducting site visits, analyzing data, writing technical reports, and producing professional papers and journal articles.
